In the Chicago Transit Authority the elder mayor Daley began to buy the jig vote starting after 1955 by simply giving them the CTA and not hiring any more whites. This got to be a joke. The jigs were still voting Republican in those days but Daley bought off a lot of them and the Great Society of Lyndon Johnson sealed the chains on white working pocketbooks. The whites retired and left the CTA system looking like a virtual coal mine except for better white routes where some white drivers remained.

The CTA is very expensive to maintain. Wages, benefits, and retirement benefits are generous. Nigra grandmammies can get $50,000 for driving a bus. That will reduce future pension costs. Actually what they need is a change in work rules, reduced wages, and more humanoid life forms in the system.
